Emiko

Hi! My name is Emiko Yamasaki and I am from Japan.

near NaplesBelow is the link to my 5-minute feature "Memories". It is a poetic tapestry-like feature that reflects peoples' childhood memories of their home countries. Their subjective comments remind us of their diversified cultural and historical backgrounds. Let "Memories" inspire your imagination by portraying the landscape through sound effects and music. I hope you will enjoy going on this sound journey to the world, flying over time and space ,,,

Wen Chung Chu (Taiwan) "You could hear the songs of insects,,, at the same time, it was so quiet, that's my hometown. By fifteen years old, I started to know something about myself.,,,My hometown was a very small, isolated village,,, for young boys, they still tried to find the way to prove themselves! "

Alka Pande (India) "An old ancient town,,, it was an important centre of the Sepoy mutinies when India rebelled against Britain. In my grandmother's house, there was a large garden in our courtyard. The garden was always filled with smell of flower's fragrance, I used to play around there,,,It was a paradise for me."

Farzin Malaki (Iran) "The Caspian Sea is close by,,, I would visit the orangery my father had. The orange you just picked from the tree has a completely different taste, so close to the God and nature,,,when snow falls on these oranges, you take the orange and peel it, the inside is so cold, it has such a special taste, I can't describe it.,,,Very divine experience."

Monika Metykoza (Slovakia) "Small town that is by the river Danube,,, I remember going to the Danube and flowing the flower petals,,,We have a bridge over the Danube, but it was bombed during the Second World War, there is one arch of it on the one side and one arch of the other, You can't go over the thing, I remember standing on the bridge and looking at the scenery,,,"

Thomas Buch-Andersen (Denmark) "There was a wooden bridge over the river,,, it was connected to a small boat,,, and I liked sailing in it,,, The Ferry would pass by, we call it "Faerge"- my brother, sister and I used to call "Faerge comes, Faerge comes!" We would run down to the bridge, get on the boat and wait for the nice wave of ride,,,"

MediterraneanMinna Pierila (Finland) "Lovely emptiness,,, Stars are singing,,, (Laughter) Forest in the night time. I remember the starlight reflecting on the snow, whole surroundings are in color of silver. And I walk down to the lake listening to the ice getting thicker. (The sound: Bang, Bang; Pocks, Pocks, Pocks)

~ Ending part ~

"Who created all these things, all these things, I must come back here again." "We used take crabs, keeping them in the small bucket and then bring them back where they were again,,," "I can't describe it, very divine experience."
