RADIO WIMBLEDON

Position: Digital Editor, 25th June - 10th July 2000

As a digital editor during The Championships for Radio Wimbledon, I was responsible for editing news cuts, match points, 121 interviews and press conferences for the news bulletins and the presenters. I was required to work to tight deadlines, maintain a high standard of work, use my own judgment on what were newsworthy clips, and adopt the style of the station. I was also required to undertake any additional tasks when needed - this included producing, researching, and reading on "The World According to the Williams Sisters" - a package on Venus & Serena Williams which was broadcast frequently during The Championships.

BBC RADIO 1

Position: Freelancer May 2000 - to present

As a freelancer I have worked for a variety of programmes and performed a variety of jobs when and where required. Most recently I have supplied reports for Producer Claire Slevin ("Sunday Surgery" ) and Producer Simon Barnard ("Annie On One" & "One World") and assisted with editing. I am often required to supply urgent pieces - this means I need to work well under pressure, maintain a good contacts book, be confident and proficient with all aspects of radio production. It is also important that my work reflects the high standards of the BBC and adopts the style of the station.

KCBS ALL NEWS 74 San Francisco, USA

Position: Internship April 2000

Internship at Internationally recognised radio network. Duties carried out include: editing carts, recording wires, using the Newscenter computer system, writing copy and conducting phone interviews. An understanding of working at a busy Newsdesk was achieved by spending time with the assignment editor, the anchors, traffic, and the KCBS reporters in the field.

TRADITIONAL MUSIC MAKER MAGAZINE

Position: Production and Editorial August 1999 to present

Co-ordination of monthly print publication. Review gigs and CDs, writing copy and contributing freelance articles. This position requires me to work to tight deadlines and to remain calm under pressure whilst being attentive to detail and quality of work.

FREELANCE MUSIC JOURNALIST Ongoing reviews and features

MEDIA ADVANTAGE Position: Freelance Website Reviewer

Review and analyze websites for print media publication and web based magazine. Shopping sites as well as information based sites are reviewed to determine how user friendly, the content of the site, and the facilities offered by the companies.

RADIO SKIDROW 88.9FM Position: Radio Broadcaster

October 1998 to April 1999

Presenting and producing a 2 hour weekly radio program on local radio. Duties included operating the desk, research, publicity, liaising with industry professionals, conducting interviews, and promoting and supporting local talent.

THE CONSULATE GENERAL OF MONACO – LONDON Position: PA to Consul-General (contract)

November 1997 to December 1997

Duties included undertaking all research, arranging Royal visits and various administrative tasks

HALCYON DAY PRODUCTIONS PTY LTD Position: Administrative Assistant

July 1995 to November 1995

In this role I was required to undertake a variety of administrative tasks including researching film scripts, liaising with production companies, booking venues, organising copyright payments, booking rehearsal spaces and assisting with all publicity strategies.

TOTAL FILM & TELEVISION Position: Production Assistant

September 1994 to February 1995

As a production assistant with Total Film & Television I was primarily involved with preproduction. This involved liaising with international co producers, visiting audition venues, preparation of production schedules, assisting the film distribution executive, preparation of film publicity and festivals such as MIPASIA and MIPCOM.
